Zamfara, UK-based NGO Train 3,700 Teachers


Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board(ZSUBEB) in collaboration with UK based organisation, Universal Learning Solution, has trained 3,700 teachers on new method of teaching English language, with emphasis on reading and writing for primary school pupils of 1, 2 and 3 classes.
The director of social mobilisation who is also a representative of the Universal Learning Solution (ULS) Aminu Musa Kanoma said in an interview with LEADERSHIP that the organisation has provided various skills in the methodology of teaching, reading and writing in Englishl Language.
The director disclosed that the programme has also organised master trainer workshop for over 200 teachers who would be training other teachers across the country on jolly phonics developed
skills.
According to the director the, “Programme which was initiated by the state government, was aimed at boosting the morale and confidence of teachers in the delivery of the curriculum content.”
Speaking to our correspondent on the training programme, the executive chairman of the ZSUBEB, Murtala Adamu Jangebe said the board would provide all the necessary mechanisms to ensure that proper teaching and learning of Jolly Phonics are strictly implemented by the trainees.
Another representative of the ULS programme, Mr Victor Poluektoff said the foresight of the ZSUBEB chairman, Murtala Adamu Jangebe for selling twwwhe idea to the entire nation which now becomes a national policy is highly commendable.
