- As Gov Ganduje lays the foundation stone for the gold market project
Kano state government strengthens economic diversification through gold business development, as governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Gold market (Souk) project.
The ceremony took place at Batakay, Western Bypass, in Kumbotso local government, recently. He assured that the state would not relent in its effort in fully utilizing solid minerals development.
In the presence of the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogar, OON, governor Ganduje commended President Muhammadu Buhari for encouraging states to diversify their economies.
Adding that "What we are doing today is only and simply replicating federal government's approach in economic diversification. It is through this, that we can be able to compete with other economies comfortably."
After acknowledging the good work of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Solid Minerals Resources, Hajiya Balaraba Ibrahim Ahmad, he explained that "With the unrelenting efforts of people like my Special Adviser on Solid Minerals Resources, Balaraba Ibrahim Ahmad, Kano will not be left behind in this gigantic approach to the modern economy."
Minister Orgar commended the state governor for his commitment towards economic diversification, emphasizing that, "The choice of Kano state for this project is deliberate, looking at the feats achieved by the state in all facets of development."
"Kano is indeed a model for others to copy. Your Excellency, we always appreciate your commitment and dedication in developing the state through various approaches," he appreciated.
When he acknowledged how the state developed fastly under governor Ganduje, he also appreciated the seriousness and commitment of other top government functionaries, like the Commissioner for Commerce, Barr Ibrahim Mukhtar, Special Adviser to the Governor on Solid Minerals Resources, Balaraba Ibrahim among others.
