Ekiti State government has rejected the move by the Senate to probe the usage of the bailout funds given to the state and other states of the federation by the Federal government, saying that such action was unconstitutional.
The state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Owoseni Ajayi, disclosed in a letter addressed to the Senate Committee chairman on States and Local Government Administration, Senator Abdullahi Gumel, through the President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki.
The letter sighted by LEADERSHIP and dated November 11, 2016, titled “Re: Senate Oversight Assignment On Bailout Funds Granted To Ekiti State” was a response to an earlier correspondence from the Senate seeking to carry out an oversight function in the state over the bailout funds.
