The Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) on Tuesday evening announced the cancellation of its meeting slated for today Wednesday, August 18, 2021.
Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, Head, Media, and Public Affairs, Nigeria Governors’ Forum Secretariat, made the announcement while citing ‘critical national issues beyond the NGF power which have just come up.
“Gentlemen of the press, it is with a heavy heart that I wish to announce that the heavy on pro-poor meeting slated for tomorrow has been canceled due to critical national issues beyond the NGF which have just come up. We regret to announce that a new date for this meeting will be announced in due course.
“I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that my earlier announcement would have caused your newsrooms. Thank you” reads the notification.
Earlier, the NGF has said that poverty reduction and growth strategy, the second phase of the Covid 19 vaccination and other health updates, will form the main agenda for discussion Wednesday, 18th August 2021, at the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF)’s 33rd Teleconference meeting, the NGF Secretariat has said.
Bello-Barkindo, in the earlier statement, said the meeting, which is the 10th in 2021, will also feature the ongoing strike by the Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors, NARD, and the campaign for building a new mindset for a united Nigeria.
